The State of the Union includes some progress and yet the speech still sucks and everyone should ignore it

Another better-than-expected thing about the Biden administration is no one is calling his joint address to Congress the "State of the Union Speech." So this year I won't have to make that "actually there is no SOTU in inauguration years" point. I have not seen any news source refer to Biden's speech as the SOTU. Progress! After years of various SOTU-related whines, clearly this blog has finally made a difference.

That said, I'm still not watching. All the other whines still stand. Even for non-SOTU-related program activities, the grand crusade against the stupid spectacle that is the State of the Union address (or inauguration-year non-SOTU speeches to a joint session of Congress) continues.
